If you do not have the NHS App or an internet connection

multicolour_pillsIf you do not have the NHS App or access to the internet, repeat prescription requests must be submitted in writing by one of the following methods (please remember to include your full name, address and date of birth):

  • In person - by completing the slip from your last prescription, or by completing a blank slip at reception. If the surgery is closed, please use the letterbox situated in the wooden fence
  • By post – enclosing a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
  • Online – follow the Repeat Prescription link to access SystmOne Online

In order to prevent errors, we do not take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions.

Please take care to only request items that you need at the time.

You can submit your request up to 7 days before you are due to run out of your medication (except for controlled drugs which can be requested up to 3 days in advance).

28 Day Prescribing

Repeat medication is issued for 28 days at a time so please ensure that all you medication is due at the same time. If you find that different items run out at different times of the month, please see or speak to the doctor or nurse so that this can be resolved. If you are on a steady regime of medication, you can also set up a repeat request service through your local chemist, who will request the medication from us every month so you only have to make one trip per month to collect the items from the chemist.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

48_hoursPlease allow two full working days (48 hours) for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. Patients using the postal service should allow longer.
